Some of our TLDs currently face significant price increases from the registry. As a result, we have decided to discontinue the sale of these domains to protect our customers.
Discontinued TLDs

The registration and transfer of the following TLDs will be discontinued as of September 7, 2017:
PROPERTY HOSTING
CHRISTMAS JUEGOS
TATTOO AUDIO
GUITARS BLACKFRIDAY
HIPHOP DIET
FLOWERS

We will also be discontinuing the registration and transfer of these domains due to their extremely high registration price:
AUTO SECURITY
CAR RICH
CARS THEATRE
PROTECTION LUXURY

Not really a surprise, I suppose.

I think registries are watching Uniregistry to see what they are able to get away with. If they succeed, other companies will copy them.

Also, ironic that it is registrars that need to step up to protect their customers, when they're really just middle men.

They haven't gotten away with anything. GD has permantly dropped ALL Uniregistry extensions.

A warning to other new gTLD registries. Why would registrars take the heat over price increases like this?

If Uniregistry manages to do well despite all of this, other registries will copy.

Just because a registrar drops Uniregistry's domains does not mean their profits will fall, particularly given the large price increases.

If you check NtldStas and NameStat though @Jeff other registries can't afford to lose GD.

You really think many of them are going to take the chance?
