Sedo .in Auction

IT.com
I have some legit premium LLL.in's still pending for days now, but my co.in's like Punjabi, Construction, etc, were rejected in nanoseconds. They're probably waiting until they get more and more submissions so only the most 'premium' get added. CBD seems like a very good domain, not sure it's upper echelon "premium" quality, but they probably took it to pad out the listings because it had a low reserve. ICU is solid I suppose.
I'm betting my reserves are not low enough, which is fine by me.

It does actually say .in only on their auction page which I don't think was there initially?
And it was 3 days review not 3-5?

Obviously cherry picking, understandably, but the problem I see is that if you look at recent sales on Sedo of .in "send to auction price" of a motivated buyer is not that high and most do not get a second bid.

Premium names fine, but if the reserves are too high then it's a non starter. I am guessing that of the few selected so far half have reserves closing on mid $xxxx.

You're right, the .in/co.in distinction was not there initially. Many of us have been holding super premiums since 2005. Wow that was a quick 12 years!! I suspect mid $XXXX is just about our starting point to even consider letting go after this long. I don't know what kind of bidders these events attract, I guess it depends on how well it's marketed - but I would guess it's a lot of 'late to the party' domain investors hoping to flip later on. I don't expect any mid-high $XXXXX blockbusters in this setting.

India is exploding by every metric right now, I'm excited for the next couple years with this Digital India initiative. I do hope at least one of my names to makes the cut for the event though just to see the interest.

I had checked before submitting if .co.in (which is major % of my portfolio ) is allowed and they mentioned only .in

Dear Dipendra,

Thank you for your email.
We have just checked with the dept in charge of the auction applications, and they have informed us that the auction is only for .in domain names so you can't submit .co.in domain names.
If you have any further questions or comments, please visit our Customer Support Center.
Best regards,

Domains 14 days pending now, ridiculous, certainly based on Sedo's declared turnaround time of 3-5 days.

With current market conditions in the unlikely event there was a buyer for any of the pending domains they would not be able to make an offer!

As I have cut down my portfolio by 90%, I am keeping only domains for long run ! Maybe will try for one domain to auction if lucky to pass their perception based selection ;)

What a shower Sedo are, 9 rejected after 2 weeks!

2 still pending after 15 days, and they are probably the worst 2 but very low reserve.

They failed to accept .co.in which is the current mainstay of the Indian domain space,

Could have held and concluded the auction at the same time as 2 Indian domain related conferences this month but failed to even do that.

I hope it does well but the more I see of the way they are going about it I have many misgivings. :(

One still pending after 17 days!

Could not sell it here for $100 so I think I will forget this auction.

Sedo is a mess. Just before the deadline, I attempted to pay the $10 per domain to submit a few for consideration into the Great Domains auction, but instead of just taking me to a PayPal payment page, they emailed me a PayPal invoice. Attempted to pay invoice, and Sedo apparently requires a confirmed shipping address to pay. I'm not sure why that's necessary considering they would be shipping me exactly Zero items, but OK, no problem I thought.

My address has been confirmed with PayPal for 18 years, but for some reason it would just not let me pay. I could have gone back and paid via credit card, but I kind of lost interest mid-frustration. Probably better I saved the $30.

3 names still pending for me too on the IN auction, lost track of the days

On the upside I decided to pick up a Buy It Now LLL.in on Sedo instead.
I paid $175 for VOI dot IN. Voice Of India? V_______ of India. Loved it at that price.

Out of 11.

19 days and my final last .in standing has been rejected.

Perhaps they were reading my posts!:p

Don't understand it. Most look like quality names to me. They must only want LLL.in names

HI,
I entered a few, ALL declined, Quality requirements not met.
Anyone care to give opinions on the quality of these names?
I would appreciate it.
Although I am not in a hurry to sell them, unless a lucrative offer is made

Sorry, but only 2-3 names out of the list are good. And I think out of the 2-3, at least ONE should have been accepted.

Just an honest assessment, do not shoot the messenger.

do not shoot the messenger
Ha, I won't shoot you, I appreciate your view.
I had a particular purpose/concept for each of those domains,
I have a few others as well.
Would anyone care to suggest any use cases for these domains, It would be interesting to see what or how other people think about certain domains, maybe stimulate the market a little with some outside of the box ideas.

Looking at the reserves on the top names in the auction it looks like they are going to be close to mid $x,xxxx, if that is the case I see a crash and burn in the offing.

Hope not though.

Police.in with a reserve of $500 rejected.
I think the selection process is being done by the night cleaner. Good names at high reserves, $100 names at $xxx reserve.

And their claim of a "first" is not correct unless they mean the first .in only auction ignoring the other India extensions. ;)

It sure doesn't look t00 promising. Now they risk making a fool of theirselves in front of a prime Indian audience. Maybe they should chance cleaner ;)
