In five years, the Indian Internet traffic will be the equivalent of 12 billion DVDs per year, 1 billion DVDs per month or 1 million DVDs per hour. How curious they use that somewhat outdated technology storage to illustrate the example. Anyway.

Is predicted thatThe Indian Internet traffic in 2020 will be equivalent to around 249x the volume of the entire Indian Internet in 2005. Also, IP traffic will reach 5.6 Exabytes per month in 2020, up from 1.4 Exabytes per month in 2015, and Internet traffic will reach 4.1 Exabytes per month in 2020, up from 946 Petabytes per month in 2015.

The mobile data traffic will grow steadily from 2015 to 2020, a compound annual growth of 63%!. And it will reach 1. 7 Exabytes per month in 2020, up from 149 Petabytes per month in 2015. India’s Mobile was 11% of total IP traffic in 2015, and will be 31% of total IP traffic in 2020

In general the traffic will greatly increase in the next four years.

Wow, a million DVDs per hour. I could see that though, that doesn't even seem that bad. 2025 on the other hand, phew.

Looks like an amazing time to be investing in India...guess I know where I'm targeting next...and the market is there...wooooo I feel like a genius but really you guys just put 2 & 2 together for me :D!

True, but DVD is something that people in general have some sort of knowledge of. Probably not by GB's, but it's still more common than a BluRay disc would be, and since CD's we're not used that widely as video containers, DVD is an easy choice here.

But yeah, video content worldwide is the main thing nowadays anyway, so as long as the connection speeds can keep up it's just going to grow anyway.

You're damn right. Please go ahead and take action :D

I still have a little ways to go before I can be international :( I have to double down on my English markets just to establish myself, after that it's all paying out translators and getting it out there :D

Yeah paying translators is a big expense, but eventually it will pay off.

Agreed. If you have a viable market, then not taking advantage of it is just plain dumb. But for that you need native translators, and they don't come all that cheap - yet they'll pay it back soon, as using automatic translation will just make your site look like a scam and diminish any hope of earnings.
