...Any lll.in should never change hands for less than $25 IMHO
^^^+1.. Totally Agree
for end users there is no difference between premium and non premium letters, at the same time premium letters had a better chance to sell as these are letters which are high in usage in terms of probability...
Having said that, many names which are not sold on forums for XX $ , sold outside for low xxxx $ , if some one investing assuming they can sell in next 1to 2 years or so.. then they are wrong... LLL.ins are surely long term investment.. it may take 5 years or some times 10 years too.. if some one is not patient enough then better to stay away from LLL.ins...
LLL.in buyout has occurred few times earlier... but the consistency of the buyout is not maintained for long term earlier, but this time its happening since June 2010... even if a name is dropping with in 3 days the same is getting registered... so I am seeing it as break-even for lll.in buyout... Also many lll.ins are put into use , which was not the case during earlier buy outs..... many lll.in s kept out of parking which itself is clearly telling the value of lll.in has increased and now the owners are started protecting their names at the risk of loosing parking revenue which was not the case earlier...
If you truly believed in the potential of non premium LLL.in, you would not be trying to sell it for $5 within few days of registration.

Yes, there may be 150% profit in your sale. But, in terms of $ value and time spent is it worth the effort.
ogz.in was on sale few mins before, but a forum member has bought it now... I dont know the reason, but its a good name as its the airport code of a city name Vladikavkaz , who realises the opportunity and able to afford they will be winners.. Hope my dear friend you understand my point..

Probably the forum member saw the LLL.in 100% buyout thread.
Yes, there may may be few hidden gems in non premium LLL once in a while.
But, I would expect those to have been sold by now.
I am speaking from experience and it relates to non premium LLL .
As part of a consortium, we had bought out non premium LLL of a leading country code. We spend low $xxx, xxx in registrations and renewals for 5 years only to drop it in the 6th year.
DP,
I can't reveal about the country code or anything else about the consortium due to NDA .
For the premium LLL.in, I agree with your points.
IMO, non premium lll.in is waste of time and money.
Only time will tell. But, unfortunately the time frame gets reset and suffers the n+5 syndrome.
I have been proven wrong many times in my domain investment strategy.
I wish you the best with your non premium lll.in investment
