A Million .IN Domain Registration

IT.com
.IN is one of the best ccTLDs from a branding point of view. If only the Registry had promoted it using 1% of the efforts .CO has been promoted with by COInternet.

I prefer this slow but steady growth over an explosive one that might cause the whole ecosystem to collapse on itself.

Also think the journey from 1mm to 10mm will be a LOT shorter than 6 years.

Good news though, congrats!

How about a party at the Mitsu headquarters! ;)

Always Welcome ! We infact since long asking all domainers to come to Mumbai for one day meeting.

Just plan and come to Mumbai. We will arrange everything.

And if our USA based customer wants then we can plan a small meeting cum party in NEW YORk any time in August.

Yes dude, in my point of view the .in is now like the 1995s .com
in the coming 5 years a lot is going to change, India is such a wast country, huge population, a booming economy, also in the making a generation addicted to Internet and computers.

So I believe the soil is quiet fertile, it's only a matter of planting and nourishing.

.co was rebranded as a "global TLD" and most of the interest in it came from the horde of low level domainer suckers, none of whom succeed at making money at this, most of whom are going to seriously pay the price once renewal comes due.

.in can't really market itself in the same way as .co since the letters don't represent something inherently meaningful to business like "CO" does.
The best it can do is market itself to India, which it's presently doing.

Can't wait to see what India looks like in 20 years and what role English language .in domains play in that. My own timeframe on .in domains is measured in 5 year increments, with occasional light trimming and adding every year. There's an awful lot of young Indian kids for whom internet is a central part of their lives, there's a lot of capital formation happening in India. The best we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope .in experiences the same 'standardized adoption' as .de, once internet saturation in India really gets rolling....

You are sooo right about domainers and the .CO issue!

As for .in nearing 1M, that is fantastic. .IN is really transforming right in front of me and its a great thing to see. Are your .in domains the cream or the milk?
I like the idea of the 5 year increments also. I am waiting till 2015 to really decide if i keep investing in .in domains. But i probably won't because of the critical rule in building wealth- never give up. So i will be holding .in domains and hoping to make good sales. There is no doubt .in is also a patient man's game.

It is a patient mans game.

There's another old saying; "Be deliberate in everything you do. Every decision you make should be done for a specific reason".

"Buy and hold forever" is not a good strategy in and of itself, unless its accompanied by specific reasons why that's the optimal decision, relative to the other available options.

If a time comes when information develops about .in domains and it looks like I should drop them, I will do so and without a moments hesitation...

I'm a .com guy and only lightly speculate in .in, so I'm not allowing my .in portfolio to exceed 100 names (I'd really like to keep it below 50 but that isn't going to happen ;) ) but I am prepared to hold them for quite a while, as long as India keeps doing what its doing.

Right now, domain prices in general are in the dumps. This has put the squeeze on .in domains, since they're much more speculative than say a .com. Still, I'm holding my position in them- even occasionally adding to it as selective opportunities arise.

We donot know from which country you are from ? but If you are from Europe then we can have party at London or if from USA then can meetup in New York (Currently we have only these two programme)

Unfortunately neither of those! Need one for Asia Pacific :)

Hello Mitsu team,

could it be possible to have a curve describing the .in registration number as a time function?

Just to evaluate/extrapolate the future evolution of the extension.

Regards.
