.in renewal-great news from mitsu

IT.com
Yes .In registry yet to agree to reduce transfer price but renewal pricng already came in effect instead of 1st March, 2011.

Really this is a great news for all Mitsu customer they can renew at almost 30% lower price. (We are not knowing if other registrars are reducing the price or not but for sure Mitsu is passing benefit to its customers).

1. All second level .IN domains will attract promo renewal price. i.e. .IN domains
2. Third Level of .IN domains (.co.in etc.) and Transfer (all level) pricing will not change.

Still we are trying hard to get the Transfer pricing too let us see what happens...

Mitsu, you guys continue to be the premiere registrar.

I will be getting a reseller account when the time comes, no doubts.

Now if there was only a better domain management system for people with bigger portfolios (hint, hint) :)

Hint : May be this renewal pricing will be permanent not restricted to 31st August, 2011 ......
If this is true, this is the 'game change' or 'disruption level effect' that would transform the .in end user pricing to many multiples of what it is now.

Now from 1st March, 2011 you can renew/transfer your .IN (second level) domains to MITSU at approx. Rs.380 (bit early for us to declare on price) but for sure below Rs.399/- means below your .com pricing.
.COM pricing parity gives .IN a major advantage, great news.

the .IN game keeps getting better!!!
Oh yes it does!

Also, transfer pricing being more than renewal prices does not make any sense.
It doesn't but people who're charging more than mitsu have to protect their interests too. :p

I'm sure the transfer price will be revised too, specially if renewal is permanently reduced, .in can't be the only extension in the world where transfer pricing is higher than registration or renewal, lol.

Yes! you are right exactly this is going on here ...

If anybody here can tell us which registry charges different price for renewal and transfer ? As far as we know even ICANN clearly states in its agreement with the .com registry that for transfer of domains "Registry Operator may charge the gaining registrar a maximum fee equal to the renewal registration fee associated with a one-year extension" see this LINK .

Exactly on the same point we are trying to convience registry that Transfer price cannot be more than the renewal cost and every registrant has right to choose his registrar who gives him better services and pricing. By increasing transfer pricing indirectly registrant are forced to renew the domain with current registrar.?

Still we are waiting for some crucial point clarification from .In registry.

BUT IF YOUR .IN (SECOND LEVEL) DOMAINS ARE REGISTERED WITH MITSU AND EXPIRING AFTER 10TH FEB., 2011 THEN YOU MAY CONTACT US FOR RENEWAL WITH HIGHLY REDUCED PRICE.

Dynadot has taken the lead by offering .in renewals for $10.5 for bulk pricing ($10.25 - super bulk)
You can even renew your expired names from january at this rate

We think that .IN transfer is still not offered at lower price by any registrar?

We are offering our renewal pricing at Rs. 399/- can say approx USD 8.99 ?

Can contact Mitsu for details on this ..........

Dyna Dot is good for some things, but even @ the cheapest .in out there ... They don't compete with the pricing mitsu.in offers.

Which is great for us as domain investors. However, that being said ... Until other registrars offer lower renewal and reg rates - it will not change the general thoughts of the in registry as the typical user will be using an American based registrar charging more than the .com equivalent.

We crossed one major hurdle, this is the next ... And nothing mitsu can do about it but what they have (to pioneer this sector of a great industry) and that is to lower price ... and hopefully increase competition :)

Dyna Dot started but still being pretty greedy.

Got word from the largest .in registrar - resellerclub - that they are not aware of any renewal promo from the registry!

Thanks, Mitsu. Unfortunately, Dynadot's price reduction does not seem to be permanent. This is what they said:

"This is a promotion. It will run until Aug 31, 2011."
