WTB- A couple 2005 Landrush .in domains

IT.com
LOL.
I'm NOT the guy who goes by DMAN on DNForum.

You can spot a losing domainer in about ten seconds. If anywhere in those ten seconds the words "dot asia" or "dot mobi" appear, you can but that down to five seconds.

Time to cool it guys.

Name calling is totally unnecessary.

Been a nice clean forum up to this point don't spoil it!

I agree. I'm done with the howlers.

I'm still buying. Anyone serious about money rather than hope, contact me.

Arguing is fine; personal attacks aren't. I'm editing out the personal attacks. If I've missed any, please PM me.

I made a very general statement in first post

He went personal on digging my names out and commenting about it in his next post

I never try to be sarcastic. I lost it when things got personal. I am sorry it went personal here.

Anyways, Lets keep it clean now. Thanks Jeff for cleaning the thread.

My company holding somewhat around hundred of semi-premium to superb premium (one word, two word) which around 40% of them from my main portfolio in 2005. But seriously, I will not sell a single domain for any less than high $xxx. I agree with some of you here, no one will going to sell any of gems in 2005-2006 for a cheap price. :)

It's just a game, if you don't play it. Don't Hate It!

If anybody wants to get landrush registered names for cheap, I am afraid this is not the place.

I guess it all depends on what 'cheap' means, but yeah. I agree. The sorts of names I'm after are not $50 names. They're significantly more expensive than that...

For some of us domaining is a hobby.

We keep those names for the pleasure of owning internet real estate and will let it go only at a decent offer.

There is enough money in the bank not to crib for 13 $ renewals, we could renew it for 10 years straight as its a hobby and not a business for us. So yes, we dream good prices for it and its seldom that those are not realized. Hold a .com since 2000 and sell it in 2011, you will get a decent figure on top of renewals if the name was half as decent in the 2000 market.

As for your comment on not showing us your name coz we may not be living in lavish spaces. Please check commercial space rates of mumbai prime localities and residential property rates. We live in houses that are near half a million dollars and our office if we own one of near about 1000 sq ft in a NOT SO decent space is over a million dollars :)

So are we as rich as you, probably not.. but we are definitely not poor or those whose opinions dont matter.

Yes, yes, I know all about Nariman Point. I own it in .co.in... And I'm also well aware that there are a handful of tycoons who have made a ton of money in India. That happens in every rapidly developing civilization- and just like when our country was at a similar point 100+years ago, our culturally-immature tycoons built grotesquely extravagant homes, just like Mukesh Amabani. I also believe that India has a fantastic future if it can get its act together, build the infrastructure, round up the cows and clean up the filth.

Still, Indians pointing to Nariman Point to define India overall is totally, totally dishonest and you know it. I've been there, seen it plenty of times, believe it has a wonderful future but it is still the dirtiest, most impoverished place I've *ever* seen.

I believe this will change, but lets not be dishonest here. I've picked up the check at restaurants that were more than the average annual income in India. The market economy over there is completely different than it is in the west and Indian domains price accordingly. This doesn't mean they all sell for peanuts, but it does mean that a lot of 'dreamers' are going to hold and renew names that they will never see a profit from, since their expectations are delusionaly high.

(and PS- we're kind of on the same page about Indian domains being a 'hobby'. That's all they are to me, too. I keep mine in a personal account, totally separate from the names I lease back to my company. They're just a fun way to keep up on a fascinating place, using my own native language that is still relevant over there. I think that's why I like Indian geos so much. Of the emerging Asian giants, I would really prefer to speculate on .cn, but their restrictions pretty much prevent that)

If America was like India now 100 Years ago. It took America 124 Years to reach that growth. Where as India achieved it in 61 Years of Independence. Less than half of the time.

Mukesh Ambani Hit the top slot in the world for his costliest house in just 61years of Independence in India. But hardly anyone from America reached the 1st place in 234 years on Independence.

Here the property rates of Nariman point have been bought into reference. It is not defining India overall . Have you been to Bangalore,Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune,Kolkata,Cochin ?. It boasts numerous big houses too and has a well planned layout.
but it is still the dirtiest, most impoverished place I've *ever* seen.

Is it your slumdog millionaire view?. If not, then you might not have seen other great places that India has to offer. Mumbai is too over crowed and poorly managed. It is not the Slum in Mumbai or the Cows on streets that reflects India as projected in some movies. It is know for its growing economy, rich heritage and culture.

India is Developing in a rapid pace. Give it some time to clean up the filth . But don't start comparing India to any other country. If you start comparing. You need to put the facts right.

I love America and have nothing against it. Had to bring it into comparison because India was compared to it.

Cheers.

Its better to have cows on streets rather than citizens carrying guns around.

Every country has its plus points and their negative points.

Oh yes, there were places that were positively *amazing*. Saw a few neighborhoods I wouldn't have any problem living in... and there was deep, deep poverty the likes of which does not exist anywhere in the west.

Every nation has unique issues to iron out. We have ours, India has theirs, China has theirs. I believe Indias poverty issues will take quite some time if for no reason other than the sheer magnitude of the population, but once it defines what its middle class will be, things can change very quickly.

Here's a picture taken in the United States, a mere 20 years before we hit our most significant cycle of prosperity

India has some cultural differences, but most people in India want the same things the people in the US want and are willing to work hard to get them, just like we have. This is the opportunity that fascinates me.

Dear Dman / all,

Inforum is a very good and decent place where people spend their time for good reasons. I will request you to stop the strong comments about India or any other country or people.I agree to couple of your comments (facts as you stated) about India and US , I strongly feel no one should use negative comments to attract people to their threads.

We appreciates your experience and vision. All the best.

cheers

I wouldn't trade our guns for your cows.

Likewise, cows don't kill.

So getting back to the topic, if you do not mind telling what is your logic for selecting names that are regged in 2005 and 2006. I have gone through the thread and could not crasp it.

An average income guy in a metro city in india who lives in a joint family has 3-4 earning members in the family and if he lives in his own house, he individually is richer than your average US guy. If he owns a business, he is richer than your rich US guy and if he owns an office at nariman point, he is filty rich and can have the best of the facilities delivered at his doorstep and has people from developed countries hungry to get buziness from him.

Wont spend more time educating you on how indians have a history of savings and so their bank accounts are filled with a million but they still live a average life because thats the importance of savings in India.

To each his own :) ... may you realize someday that each person you talk to is capable of paying a million dollar depending on his degree of desperation.

Guys, to be objective USA's GDP is ~$14Trillion whereas India's GDP is ~$3Trillion. Even the per capita Income of USA is way high. To be fair India has a long way to go.
