WTB- A couple 2005 Landrush .in domains

Looking for a couple one word domains...

The domains I'm interested in were all taken in 2005 and 2006, so while I do not believe that registration date says much about keyword quality, to keep things simple, only send me one word domains with 2005 and 2006 registration dates

You may think your 2009 or two-word name is the exception to my criteria and to just send it over anyway- it isn't, so please, don't.

Priced names only, no 'make offer'.

PM here.

Thanks.

I don't have budget problems.
I pay according to realistic market values and the quality of the name.

Unfortunately, 99% of domainers are delusional dreamers that will never make a dime of profit off their names- them, I ignore. For people with good names who actually want to sell, I'm a pretty good trading partner.

The sorts of people who have the names I want and wish to sell them for market-realistic prices know who they are.

I don't know is that is a fair statement because if there is one thing we've all experienced as domainers in domaining forums, its the fact that MANY people want to buy good names from other domainers for next to nothing.

Example- someone a few days ago made a $7 offer on iai.in on namepros. As .in domainers, we all know this name's potential is alot higher than that, but why would a .in domainer offer that price? the only reason is to take advantage of people's desperation to sell.

my point is that maybe many domainers won't make a dime of profit on domaining forums because we domainers are cheap as hell as many many of us are guilty of offering ridiculously low prices for good domains other domainers sell to us. its a problem we all need to move away from..

This is a typical flipper statement. Buy low Sell high.I hope someone falls for you.

I remember in DNF a normal guy who offered unet.com for sale. was asked to stop dreaming about the domain and sell it for low xxxx. He decided to go against the common reseller thinking and sold it for 100k.

You think like a reseller. You remain a reseller.

I made that offer. The bin wasnt posted when it was made. I assume it was an auction and the bid was higher than the previous one.

Yes its a good domain and I would've grabbed it if it was going that low. Better me than someone else I say :)

If you were offended by the offer, accept my apologies.

Exactly! We, as domainers, are the first to assign a low value to domain names we want to buy. Then, why can't we blame endusers who prefer to handreg a new name for regfee instead of buying our pricey domains?

(sorry, this response will be long)

No, it's the statement of someone who has been around this longer than most all of you and has seen this game on every level. Your mentality is very similar to people who are new to this and still full of big dreams (I know you're still new at this, since you actually own .asia domains )

I don't even resell .in domains, but I do make money off domains (meaning, I actually generate enough money to buy stuff like cars and take trips- not nickles and dimes...) The .in market is totally speculative at this time and bring in very, very little money. Don't like that? Ok, then wait for 'the future'. You may win, you may not... Want to sell today? You get todays prices.

To be sure, everyone loves getting a great price, but there's a big difference between selling too low and asking way, way, way, way, way, way too much. For every one 'great deal' I might run across, I encounter 100 domainers asking prices that they will never get. The problem is, every time lighting strikes and a dreamer gets some ludacrous price as a function of dumb luck, it only serves to fuel the lottery mentality that is a failing model for 999 out of 1000 domainers. People who want to make money off domains know how to do it. People who want to hold domains and 'dream' can only do so as long as their bank account- and hope- holds out.

I don't fault those people, but I do suggest they not waste their time with me. I know how the game turns out for them... In 2 years or 5 years or 10 years, they eventually wake up and try to sell their names- gone are the days of four figure asking prices... Now, they just want to break even on a 5 years worth of renewal fees... At least a couple times per year, I get emails from people who I contacted years ago about a domain, offering to sell it at the price I offered in 2004, or whatever. It's kinda pathetic to watch... I've never taken them up on their offer.

So, like I said. In this game, there are two types of people. Those who engage in business and those who engage in dreams. Only one of those groups makes money.

I'm pretty clear that I have no interest in dealing with the dreamers. People who actually buy domains (as opposed to people who dream about domains) are basically all in my camp and operate this way. If you want to sell your domains, you will price them to sell. Auction prices are a good barometer of this. For those who want to dream, then keep dreaming, but don't waste the time of people like me. Like I said. I know how that strategy turns out for you... I wish you the best of luck, since luck is the only way you're going to make a dollar. Your strategy itself ensures those things within your control- outside of luck- will fail.

I'm not looking to take scalps- I offer totally fair, market realistic prices- but I don't indulge the idiot whims of the dreamers, either. If you don't want to offer me your domain at a realistic price now, OK. I'll just pick it up in the "about to expire" $3 firesale you will post once renewal comes up and your dreams come down to meet reality.

For those who want to do business:

$$$$$$$$$$$ £££££££££££ €€€€€€€€€€€ Rs Rs Rs Rs Rs Rs Rs Rs Rs

waiting.

Dman,
what is the best domain name you own?
In whatever extension it may be.
Just want to know this.

Unfortunately, your curiosity will have to go unfulfilled.
If I had to pick one, it would be a particular .com name registered in the mid 1990's, gets about 800 type-ins per month (back when it was parked, about 60% were clicking) and an offer to buy about every other week.

When .co.in were launched in 2005 I made a statement on DNF in Feb of that year that I had a portfolio that in my opinion was worth around $300K that was of course laughed off the forum.

Earlier this year I passed that $300K figure and still have some pretty good names. Some have sold for $xx many have sold for $xxxx and one for $xx,xxx.

Am I a reseller, yes. Am I a domainer-yes. Make of it what you will.

I have bought to sell with very little consideration given to development. I will be selling off most of my portfolio in the coming year or two to concentrate on retirement, mainly golf and travel. :p

Look out for some bargains-maybe!

You're also significantly more talented than most resellers. You actually comprehend what constitutes value in a domain, when to ask for XX and when to ask for XX,XXX. You don't simply ask XX,XXX or XXXX or even XXX for every name, as is standard amongst those who lose at this.

I mean, as far as people who actively participate in domain forums, I can pretty much count on my fingers and toes the ones who are talented enough to actually make money at it. Guys like you, bmugford, Justin Godfrey, etc, etc, etc... A large part of the reason they profit is because in addition to knowing how to buy, they also know how to sell, when to sell, to whom to sell...

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that there aren't too many participants on this forum (on the .in domainer namespace in general) in that league. When the money comes, they will come, but until that time, a lot of participants are distant strangers to reality and still well on the bottom-end of the learning curve of profitable domaining.

C'mon!, show us some names you have/sold that buys you cars and takes you on trips.

It is not about how long you have been here in this industry. But how successful you are. My sales this month is already 10k. One of them reported in DNJOURNAL this week.

And i only resell my junk names. I hold premium names and keep dreaming. And most of my dreams have come true. I normally keep low profile. But my blood throbs when i see people like you talking crap about domainers and their pricing.

A typical reseller

that is called an end user with a reseller budget.Patience is the name of the game because quality name will latently grow in value over time.are you willing to hold that name for 3 years for a total cost of $39? if not, then you should not renew that name ever. If yes, then pay the cost and be patient. Your reward will come to you sooner or later.

Context is very important also. India currently has 80 million internet users, but in 3-5 years, it will balloon to 300-400m users, and this is a huge upswing, which means .in is still in the infancy/early growth phase. If you are looking for huge profit now, you will sell for cheap. The longer you hold, the better your sales.India's internet is guaranteed to keep growing for the next 20 years, and thats realistic. Its tedious and financially straining to hold .ins and keep renewing, but a domain is only as valuable as people treat it.I saw you sold fridges.in, but it probably was a mid $xx sale, but in reality that name would be worth at least mid $x,xxx within 5 years.

Either way, i support trade and sales between forum members, so i do hope that deals do happen and people do develop names they like and acquire.

Why?

All talk and no show?

Tell ya what. You take a screen cap of your bank account and some video of your home, and I'll decide if you're someone who I might care showing off to. Until then, I couldn't care less about your opinion, or 'proving' anything.

One such reported sale on DNJOURNAL was iMarry(.)com. Others are not yet reported yet. I am sure you might be still dreaming about flipping a domain for xxxx$ seeing the junk .cc .tl OR whateva crap that you own.

You can just keep dreaming about owning a premium name.
