I have question(s) about the deletion, redemption, status and drop of the .in domains. The question pertains to WHIZ.in (Directi)

I received this email for a domain of mine yesterday:

Code:
Your domain <domain.co.in> has expired on Oct 20, 2010 and has been deleted from your account. You cannot renew it now. However, you still have one last chance to get your domain name back, by using the redemption process (details are given below). If you want to restore your domain name, then you are required to complete the redemption process within the next 30 days, else you may lose this domain name forever.

Order Details
Order ID: 2848702394708234082093840
Domain Name: <domain.co.in>
Expiry Date: Oct 20, 2010
Restore Cost Price: USD 70.0

Subsequently, I received an email for the same domain today:

Code:
Your Domain Name <domain.co.in> has been Deleted. This Domain Name will no longer be active, and will be available for anyone to Register

Order Details
Order ID: 2848702394708234082093840
Domain Name: <domain.co.in>

The current status for the domain in the whois records:

Code:
Domain ID:XXXXXXXXXX-AFIN
Domain Name:<domain.co.in>
Created On:20-Oct-2007 11:00:00 UTC
Last Updated On:05-Nov-2010 08:00:00 UTC
Expiration Date:20-Oct-2011 11:00:00 UTC
Sponsoring Registrar:Directi Internet Solutions Pvt. Ltd. dba PublicDomainRegistry.com
(R5-AFIN)
Status:PENDING DELETE RESTORABLE
Status:HOLD

My question(S) are as follows:

1- Basis the email I received today, the domain should be available to "anyone to register" right?

2- If the domain has not been deleted, why did I receive the email today?

3- When would the domain then be available for "anyone to register" - 5th December 2010?

4- Is there a good drop list service for .in domains?

5- Lastly, What action do you recommend?

Many thanks in advance!

1- Basis the email I received today, the domain should be available to "anyone to register" right?

check the whois and decide :p

2- If the domain has not been deleted, why did I receive the email today?

its the status abt deletion. Not the domain deletion from registry and release to public

3- When would the domain then be available for "anyone to register" - 5th December 2010?

after 5days when it reaches pending delete release state

4- Is there a good drop list service for .in domains?

no.

5- Lastly, What action do you recommend?

restore that if thats a great name or just watch for release and re reg.

Please see this post it may help you to understand how domain deletion cycle works : Link

Ans. Q1. Mistake of sender's language , available for "anyone to register" only after PENDING DELETE RESTOREABLE period over.

Ans Q2. You recived two emails one just a day before domain gone in PENDING DELETE RESTOREABLE status and one after same has gone in that status.

Ans. Q3. Your this particular domain will be drop and available to register exactly at 10th Dec., 2010 at 20.00 UTC time.

Ans. Q4. As a registrar we donot comment on this question.

Ans. Q5. Our answer same as of Chandan.
