On a more positive note for the Indian namespace Ludhiana.net.in has had 100+ type in so far this month with a high click of 2.38 euro.

The norm is a small fraction of that for most of my Indian names.

WE bought a bunch of Indian .org.in and .net.in pure geo's of big cities (all 1 million population or higher- I think we have about 30 or so) and haven't even gotten around to parking them yet since they're with MITSU and figuring out how to do anything with that interface is like trying to operate the landing sequence of a space shuttle. :D

LOL, I forgot. I just checked and we own Ludhiana.org.in.
I supposed I ought to get around to at least parking them...

I see you just registered it in December of 09- was it a drop? If not, I'm kinda surprised we missed that... Someone's going to get yelled at tomorrow :D

@wot, I'm glad to hear your site is doing well.

I notice it ranks on the first page of Google.co.in (despite it being a parked domain).

2nd page where I am ;) I am as surprised as anybody, it was among quite a few drops of nice geo .net.in/.org.in at the end of last year.

I just parked mine.
I suspect that that particular name had previous development, because none of ours are getting that level of traffic. Some, yes, but a few cities larger than Ludhiana that we own in both .net.in and .org.in TLD's are't performing that way, so I'd surmise from that the reason ludhiana.net.in is over-performing is because the parked page ranking in a search engine, or it has BLs.

As you probably know, Google doesn't intentionally index/rank parked domains. See thread here - the example domain (microprocessor.com) has since disappeared from the serps. Google eventually caught on that it was indexing/ranking a parked domain.

wot, do you intend to put a site/mini-site on Ludhiana.net.in? I think it will increase your chances of staying in the index!

Nope, simply going to try to sell it along with the majority of my .co.in/.in - hopefully this year so look out for bargains.

Kanpur.net.in now also attracting a fair bit of traffic.

Yes, I do know that, but occasionally they (engines) make the mistake of doing so (indexing parked pages), which can result in short-term bursts of traffic. That's what seemed to have happened here, which is why I mentioned getting indexed as getting indexed as being a possible explanation for what appears to be legitimate but unnatural traffic.
