Arrow seo traffic for .co.in vs .in

    hey guys,
    just launching topix.co.in -

i want to know how much the TLD affects my traffic.
coz, recently some .co.in's seem to be loosing traffic, as I have noticed.

    please share your views.

Thumbs up Re: seo traffic for .co.in vs .in

    The difference is the level
.in is 2nd level where as .co.in is 3rd level.
People like .in instead of .co.in
But by Search Engine Optimization you can get more traffic.
the level of a domain is not responsible for high traffic change.
Because seo is the best way for website traffic.

it's best to start optimising your new site and promoting. you should then start to see an increase in traffic. any tld can do well, it's just down to the efforts of the webmaster

Well that's a valid question since many people actually don't pay much attention to the TLD. Thing is that TLD helps in case you are targeting towards a particular region. So for example, in case you are targeting a searcher based in india, then your website having .co.in will be more likely to show up in the serps. However you must understand that this is not the only factor that comes into play. There are other factors like backlinks, on page content, title tags etc which also count. The .co.in websites you mentioned were loosing rankings could be because of other reasons and not TLD by itself. Refer Matt Cutts on this topic

If you optimize well, you can get top ranks in both .in or .co.in

.in or .co.in have nothing to do with traffic, if your site has enough killing instinct then people will remember it automatically after first visit. But still I think by using .co.in you can approach to global visitors also, with .in you seems to impress the Indian visitors only.
