Using Sitemaps for Websites

Do you use sitemaps on your websites? From what I understand, they help search engine spiders crawl and index your website. The other benefit is they help visitors get around your site.

I read about Google's new Sitemap Generator and was thinking of trying it out. According to the introduction page, Google will not retrieve any of your private data if you use of this tool:

Google Sitemap Generator is being released through the open source community, so that you can download and examine it. We already already know that you don?t want Google Sitemap Generator to send any private data to Google, and the only information that you'll be sharing with Google is the Sitemap file!

The tool is currently in Beta.

If you don't want to use Google's Sitemap Generator, there's always the Google sitemap compliant plugin, which can be downloaded via WordPress.

Which sitemap tools/plugins do you use and recommend?
