Mumbai Blogger Meet
An informal bloggers' meeting will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2008 in Mumbai. Sounds like a great opportunity to meet and chat with other bloggers. The venue is yet to be decided.
So if you live in Mumbai or happen to be in that city on that date, you might want to check it out: Calling bloggers and blog readers from and to Mumbai

A blogger is simply someone who writes commentary or posts entries on a blog/website. You probably read many blogs, even if you are not a blogger yourself. For example, INForum has a blog ( Indian Domain Name Blog) which provides commentary and news on the Indian domaining world.
WordPress is a popular and free blog software. You can find more info here.
Hope that helps.

Re: Mumbai Blogger Meet
I will go through all the info that you have provided, thanks for the help. Another clarification, if possible do tell me what a blogger actually gets out of all this, is the blogger paid for blogging.

No problem. Happy to help whenever I can.
Try to write about something you are an expert on, or are interested in. It will help you be motivated to keep blogging!

Re: Mumbai Blogger Meet
Sorry sanju123, I don't think I was clear. You can write articles for your own blog. If you're interested, here's an introduction to blogging for beginners. Also, here are some blog tutorials.
If you don't want to start your own blog, another option is freelance writing. For example, you can look for writing opportunities at Elance.com.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Re: Mumbai Blogger Meet
Thanks Ceres, I am aware of Elance.com but the only thing that hinders me is that there are already so many writers registered and they have excellent reviews to their credit- who will hire me- a newbie.Or do you suggest I should go ahead with it---is it worth giving that test and all?
