Has anyone ever gone through Section 512(c) of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act? It is a very important statute when talking about the obligations and legal liabilities of social networking sites. In a way, the liability for copyright infringement is removed from websites that allow users to post content, so long as their is a mechanism that allows the copyright owner to request for removal of infringing content. Much as this law exists, I think there is a gray area and this poses a problem for the networking sites.

Quite an insight. I think there is a clause therein that prohibits these sites from receiving money out of a copyrighted item. Much as it may be clear, I think there are loopholes especially since you cannot control what the users post.
