Rediff has introduced a new service for small and local advertisers. There is no fee to post an ad. Users can view the ads on both personal computers and mobile phones. Mobile friendly ads is a good idea, as in India as many people are accessing the internet via their phones.
The interesting thing is that I didn't immediately see many advertisers promoting websites urls. I only came across urls when I entered "www" in the search box.
At the bottom of many ads, I notice it states "Enter your number and the advertiser will call you now." I'm assuming this is not compulsory for advertisers, as I also saw ads without this message.
