Details are here :

As you must be aware, the Internationalised domain names in Indian languages will be made available very soon. Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), under the aegis of The Ministry of Communications & Information Technology has been involved over the past few years in this initiative. The main aim has been to evolve a policy for allotting IDNs in the major Indian language/scripts, thereby empowering the user to register the URL in the Indian language of his choice.

Given the complexity of Indian languages and the writing systems, a large product of complex issues arise, such as a notion of the Brahmi syllable, spoofing, pharming and other such security issues.

To create awareness among Registrars, Sub-Registrars, Industry partners and other major players, C-DAC and DIT are jointly organising a workshop targeting specifically Malayalam Language to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on 14th July, 2011.

VENUE: MASCOT Hotel, Cantonment House Road,
Mascot Square, Thiruvananthapuram-695 033

TIMING : 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs

Another One for Hyderabad :

CDAC is planning to do workshop in different part of India, all Mitsu Resller/Customer who want to attend the workshop at Hyderabad on Friday, 19th August, 2011 please contact us, we will arrange your appointment from Mitsu.

Topic: "New Horizons in IDNs & Reference to New gTLDs"

Date: Friday, 19th August, 2011
Venue: Hall 2, Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Hyderabad
Website: http://www.idn.cdac.in

Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) enable the user to enter the URL of the website of his choice in the browser in his native language. Earlier, this was limited only to Latin characters, and therefore, we had to use .in. However, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), has now permitted Internationalized Domain Names.

The conference will have the best of minds, both from India and abroad, who will address the audience on a variety of subject ranging from introduction to the new gTLD's, security as well as legal implications of the implementation of the IDN policy among others. An important feature of the conference will be feedback session to garner public consensus and obtain valuable suggestions.
