I was reading this article in the Inc magazine and later saw a post by Elliot Silver: Inc. Magazine Reveals Price of Nuts.com | DomainInvesting.com

Basically, Elliot Silver's post talked about NUT.COM sale for $700K.

While I was reading the article here from the Inc magazine, these were the main points:

  • Buyers tend to hide their main identity
  • Some posed as bloggers needing a site for blogging. This is really interesting because atleast I tend to receive lots of inquiries with that being the reason for buying the domain name.
  • High value domain names deal take months to finalize. In the magazine, a user created fake profiles including the one on LinkedIn to get into few degrees of separation from the seller and then later ask for "Friends & Family Discount"
  • The writer of the article doe not understand the difference between URL & domain name :)
