OK. Lets try to break it down a bit

1. They have to be using shared hosting themselves if they are not using any third party billing system to run crons. If they are using shared, there is a high probability of them getting suspended for some stupid reason.

2. If they are on shared, it does not mean that the data stored with them is on the same server. AFAIK, LogicBoxes offer their own billing and provisioning system that is maintained on a secure VPS.

3. It cannot be illegal if they are accredited with LogicBoxes. Becoming accredited requires a lot of paperwork.

4. Im not sure if they have control over their server. If they are making API calls from a VPS hosted with LogicBoxes, then chances are they have no control. But that should not be a reason for suspension.
