Not to mention that registrations in TLDs like this are usually expensive, at least much more than a .co.in / .net.in which would be my second choice...

IMHO, this is a non-issue, with the advent of GTLDs, I'm surprised that there is any chance of extensions like .in.net

If someone wants an indian domain, why doesn't they register a .net.in, which is a real TLD, instead of a non-TLD like .in.net, .de.com, .uk.com, etc?
