Default IPL's Latest Restrictions on Media & Websites

According to this NDTV report, the IPL has updated its media restrictions. The restrictions affect TV channels, websites, magazines etc.

Quote:
While the TV channels can use no more than 30 seconds of fresh footage, websites are not allowed to broadcast any of the match footages, archived or deferred.
Quote:
The suggested channels also have a limit of 7 minutes for a full day of IPL coverage. Also the footages cannot be repeated more than three times a day
Quote:
Also Lifestyle and Travel magazines have been barred from carrying anything about the IPL. As per the new guidelines only "bona fide magazines" and "bona fide websites" can use still photographs.
The above seems over the top to me. I wonder if these strict restrictions will cause certain media agencies to shun the IPL? It wouldn't be the first time.

A not good strategy , however it would be for the promotional rights transfered to a particular party.
