Default The Cyberchondriac

You've heard of the hypochondriac (someone who has irrational fears that they will likely become ill or are ill). Now meet the new person on the block, the cyberchondriac:

Quote:
The wealth of health information on the Web may be creating a generation of so-called cyberchondriacs who develop irrational health fears based on information they gathered on the net, said a team of researchers at Microsoft.

Default Re: The Cyberchondriac

It is true I have also come across such cases. Even young kids of 14 15 yrs are glued to health info and end up with so many fears. I have seen a a young boy in so much of trouble-his mom cries as the whole day he is on the net.
