I notice the INRegistry website is now publishing a list of INDRP Pending Dispute Decisions.

I think it's a good idea. Might come in handy if you're about to purchase a domain and want to make sure there aren't any pending disputes associated with that domain.

A few sure losses there for the defendants. At least igoogle.co.in,captainmorgan.co.in, macmillan.in.

Those have obvious TM issues, and these companies are cutting their losses by suing for these now as opposed to the future

Hi warbux. With regard to Macmillan.in, I'm probably missing something here, but it seems like a legitimate website for Macmillan Insulations India Pvt Ltd and doesn't seem like a bad faith registration.

I can't see evidence of confusion with this company using the Macmillan name in association with insulation services.

As I said, I may just be missing something very obvious here and if I please let me know. Thanks very much!

Armani.co.in has just been added to the list of pending INDRP disputes (interesting that Armani.in isn't also on the list). I wonder if the Armani fashion company is going after this domain?

Seeing as Armani is also a surname, there's always the possibility that the current domain owner has a legitimate interest in registering and using this domain name in association with something other than designer clothing etc. I suppose we'll find out in due course!

In general, is it risky to register surnames, or is it an acceptable practice assuming you don't infringe on any registered trademarks or common law interests?

The owner of Armani.com doesn't seem to be the same as the owner of Armani.in.

Names are riskier because businesses are often named after their owners.
