Thread: INDRP: Typosquatter Ordered to Pay Costs

In this INDRP decision, the respondent was ordered to transfer "wwwairfrance.in" to the complainant, who owns the well known trademark AIR FRANCE.

To discourage such bad faith registrations, the arbitrator also ordered the respondent to pay $10,000 USD towards the cost of the proceedings. Whether the respondent pays remains to be seen.

I think we need more decisions like this.

Only if in cases of reverse domain name hijacking the domain owner gets costs as well.

I agree. There are trademark owners who also try and abuse the domain name system.
