Have launched a contributory village news blog at
www.ApnaGaon.in

Apna Gaon (Hindi: अपना गाँव) means our village.

This blog will complement a Social Network being developed on
www.ApnaGaon.com (English version)
www.अपनागाँव.com (IDN Hindi version)

Quick facts:
- More than 70% of over 1 billion Indians live in about 600,000 villages (as per 2001 census).
- The India government has embarked on an ambitious drive to have Internet connectivity to all villages by next year (2011).

What do you folks say?

Are you folks wondering, what "the Indian spelling test" is?

It's something I have coined as an Indian domainer. It's what an Indian will spell out after listening to the word(s) on phone

For apna gaon, I tried the test on 10 people from different regions of India - everyone invariably spelled out the same letters

its nice design, but i didn't find any village news content on any gaon you mentioned. i think you can make it better.

Thank you. It is supposed to be contributed by public and we haven't got contributors yet. We need to publicise the site but are held up due to other priorities ATM.
