Hello DomainMagic,

At first glance, I thought the website only included the categories Breaking News, Business, National, World and Technology. Therefore, perhaps you should somehow highlight the fact that there are many more categories located under the "All News" icon on the top navigation bar.

I don't like the plugin? which forces visitors to stay on your site, when they click to view a story located on a third party website. I've seen this feature on other websites and obviously I do realise you want people to stay on your website...but I find the feature annoying.

I like the idea of a separate video section.

I think the design and layout looks good.

The Home page categories for the headlines like Breaking news, Business, National, World and Technology are temporary categories as I will be adding totally new categories once subsequent functionalities are up. I agree you have a valid point as some users will think the site has only 5 categories. I will think something to address this issue.

Even I don't like it. I hate popups and annoying advts. That's why I am giving too much importance to design and layout which took me lot of time to complete it. It is my personal choice as being an avid reader of many news websites and what I hate most, I do not want other readers to feel the same.

However, as you said, you need to promote your Brand as the services are free. You will note that, the plug in doesn't have any advertisement or annoying messages. It is just the Logo, and for the user to "close" plugin" so that they can remain in the third party websites or to comeback to allnews.in site by using back' button.. I think it is fair, very fair to many other sites. I feel we should take it as user friendly as the plug in have just user controls for navigation.

DomainMagic,

Nice site and pleasing colors. Couple of observations:
1. It is not obvious how I can have the news the way I want it.

2. I am not too flustered about the plug in to return to your site. I am rather annoyed by the overt ads on both sides on the home page. I know that you need to generate revenue but may be you can stream them to one side or minimize video/ image ads etc.

3. In the tabs - "Breaking news, Business" etc., when a tab is selected, you could probably change the color to something other than white as it is the background color to show that it is the selected tab.

4. When I click on Business or Technology category, it does not show me news from only India. Is the idea to be sort of a global news portal like Google news? If so, your value proposition isn't very clear to me.

First I want to talk about the Value proposition: What value allnews.in brings it for readers when there are so many news websites? Why it allnews.in should be different? Why Allnews.in claims All the news, the way you want it.

Good thought and a good question.

Allnews.in mission is to bring all the news from different sources directly (I mean news are not sourced from Google or Yahoo or any other search engines). Google gives news which I never want the way I wanted..(IMHO) It’s OK if I just want to browse through. But if I want to have all the news filtered throughon different ways like sub categories (Finance, Market etc)to a category like Business, or on different sources or on all sources for each category in a user friendly way or on city wise I doubt Google or any other sites could provide..

Google is just content aggregator. Allnews.in is also a content aggregator plus more. We have built our algorithms to filter and stream news that any user can filter to its depth. (Though not 100%)

All News Side menu: Home-> All News- Breaking news or Business

If you have a look at the side menu for each sub menu also called category,(Eg.Business) ·That has Allnews – means news from all the sources+ all the sub categories shown from the latest to old.

·Then you have all news by (sub category): For example Business Sub menu has All news by National, Finance, Market etc.

·Then you can filter news from “each source” pertaining to that category.. For example if you want to read “news from Economic Times only” select the source or if you want it from moneycontrol, you can do so. ·
Then you have All the news from All the sources... Here you can see all the news for that particular category (say business) which gives you “drag and drop” option of each news source. A user can save their desired sequence.

I am an avid reader and even during the paper era read at least 3 different papers and when I am online I am trying to read several online news channel.. often at the cost of my time and sometimes I get frustrated and leave. Instead, Allnews.in brings value by saving time to go to each websites, and you go to the websites ONLY when someone like a particular news and want to read more click on the title thus saving lot of times.

Home page:

The sliders called Bux Slider (Bux stands for Better user experience) in the home page help in quickly grasping the happenings in the world. The first slider, ‘All News by Category’ helps the user to read news based on the subject of interest-Business, City, Entertainment, Technology and so on. The second slider is ‘All News by Source’ to read news straight from news sources like Reuters, The Hindu, Economic Times and more. Thus, a person, short on time, can still know the news from around the globe in two minutes.

In short:

All news value propositions will be:

Quality
Time
User friendly design
Better navigational controls
Drill/views news as much as possible.
And still a lot more to come.

I am sure Allnews.in will bring more value to its readers in due course once it is fully functional.

PS: Regarding placing advt. I must admit that I am novice and experimenting just now. Give me sometime. On colors for headlines tab,I experimented a lot and I am not inclined to change it. We provide news from India and you can filter for example Business- Side menu(Left)-> News by -National.
