IDN.in Coming Very Soon
Domain names in Indian languages soon- Internet -Infotech-The Economic Times
For trademark owners, the initial registration (called the sunrise period) is expected to open in January 2008. Registration for individual owners, that is, land rush, will begin around March, 2008.

It's not clear from NIXI’s statement as to how they plan to roll out the extentsions
i.e.
हिन्दी.in or
हिन्दी.ईन or
हिन्दी.इन

I'd presumed from earlier statements that it would be हिन्दी.in but reading this press release again, I'm not so sure.
