To date, Google has released a number of transliteration gadgets and tools, as well as adding their transliteration tool to Gmail.

Now Google has introduced transliteration bookmarklets. The tool allows you to type in your language in any text box on any website. For example, you can carry out a search on Google News by entering words in English and the tool will then transliterate the words into your language of choice. You can also use the bookmarklet in Gmail chat and social networking sites etc.

The transliteration bookmarklets support Arabic, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.
