Thread: Company Opts for Hyphenated .IN Domain

Legrand India has launched a new online campaign to showcase its Arteor range of wiring devices. The url is Legrand-Arteor.in (domain registered December 2009).

The first thing I notice is that it's a hyphenated domain.

The second thing I notice is that the non-hyphenated version is still available.

Even if Legrand India prefers hyphens (really? ), I think it would be wise if it also registers the non-hyphenated version (to protect its brand or to set up a redirect to main website). See thread that discusses hyphenated domains.

Wow, not an easy one for customers to remember... And amazing they didn't register the non-hyphenated version.

On the other hand it is nice to see them using the .in and not ruling out hyphens.

WiringDevices.in would be much better! Their marketing dept has no idea!

I even think that .in brings lots of traffic and its more popular.
