Domain Name Wire » News » Nominet Releases Goldmine of Domain Renewal Statistics - The Domain Industry's News SourceHello:

Another interesting statistics for .uk domains:

http://domainnamewire.com/2009/11/05/nominet-releases-goldmine-of-domain-renewal-statistics/

Interesting is the strong correlation between the length of registration and the probability that the domain would be renewed.

Note that .uk registry requires registration periods of atleast 2 years minimum.

Thanks Ace!

The Report also highlights that people both trust and like ccTLDs:

Quote:
The specific question we have asked is “If you did a web search and were presented with the choice of a .com or .uk web address, which ONE would you be most likely to click on first?”

This year saw an increased level of preference for .uk over .com with 77% of people stating that they would select the .uk search result first.
We need this type of report for Indian domain names...

It was dis-heartening to note that .IN ccTLD is not even figuring in top 20. It is behind even countries like Belgium and Denmark.
