I came across a list of top 20 banks in India. I was curious to see how many were using or own a .in/co.in domain. Here are the results:

- Banks which either use or own a .in/.co.in domain = 100%

- Currently, approx. 50% of these banks use .in/.co.in as their main India website.

- Currently, approx. 50% use .com domains, despite owning the .in/.co.in. The in/.co.in domains either don't resolve or, if it has content, it isn't being promoted much on the web.

Also, it looks like .co.in is being used more than .in. This may be because .in was introduced after .co.in.

Even though not all the banks are actively using the Indian domains they own, I think these results are great. They show that Indian domains are actually being adopted in India. For those interested, here is the list of banks and the websites:
