Default German Names on .IN extension

I notice Krause.in is up for auction on Sedo, with a current bid of 1,200 Euros (auction ends on 25th Sept). As Krause is a German name, I wonder if it's a potential end user that's bidding?

Recently, the German term for dental insurance also sold on Sedo - see: zahnzusatzversicherung.in Sells for 4,975 Euros. Whois details have not yet updated, but judging by the sale price I assume it is an enduser sale. [Edit: see update below]

My guess is these type of sales won't happen too frequently. I think such sales will happen only if, for example, a German company has (or intends to have) a presence in India. Otherwise, to me at least, it seems odd to have a German term/name on a .IN extension. I did come across an article about German companies expanding in India but there are a lot of other countries expanding in India.

What does everyone else think about German names on the .IN extension? Please share your opinion.

UPDATE: As reported here, the domain that actually sold was zahnzusatzversicherung.info. Unfortunately, the whole extension was not visible in Sedo's recent sales list.

It's a matter of finding the end-user / anyone who's willing to shell that amount. Some german names sell for XXXXX in .de ext. while corresponding .com fails to fetch even XX . As far as reg. just for speculation is concerned , in my personal opinion i had stick to simple english names. .in market is good but the full potential would be seen after a few years only.As it is the indian TM system sucks, and with INDRP putting arbitrary fines , it's not good to mess with .

As for zahnzusatzversicherung.in, no doubt it's an enduser sale.

I see that Kredite.in is also on auction at Sedo (current bid $100). The word means "credits" in German?

    Update: Kredite.in closed at $160.

Well since we're talking about German words on this thread, I thought I'd mention that Zahnarzt.in (sale details here) now has content. Zahnarzt means dentist in German. The site is a directory where you can find a ….dentist IN Germany.

The owner of this website also owns Gesundheit.in. Gesundheit means health in German. It looks like this site will be a directory/search portal related to the best health IN Germany.

Interesting domain hacks for the .IN extension!

BTW, as mentioned in a previous post, Outside.in is another interesting domain hack that uses the .IN extension.

I came across another interesting domain. This time a .IN domain being used by a Germany-based attorney who specialises in intellectual property law: Horak.in.

As mentioned elsewhere on the forum, .IN could potentially mean many things. In this case, do you think the .IN might stand for INternational? (the lawyer deals with international law, as well as other practice areas).

No, I believe its just because the de, com and net versions are not available. Therefore he took the .in. for his family name.
