Looks like the Whois data was recently updated, so I assume the transaction did go through after all.

You were correct, Ace. I'm not sure if it's mentioned elsewhere on the forum, but the purchaser of Big.in turned out to be Reliance Big Entertainment.

The domain still doesn't resolve to a website, so perhaps it was purchased for defensive reasons to protect the 'BIG' brand. The main website for Reliance Big Entertainment can be found at RBE.co.in.

reliance uses co.in domains for the main sites :P

few domains they operate have huge traffic and .in are with some other guys too
