Good question - no clue. I'd guess low x,xxx, but I'm sure most or all of them also invest in extensions other than .in.

I suspect many, if not most, of the domainers with .INdian holdings reside outside of India!?

Depends on how you define a domainer, number of domains owned or buying and selling domains

Just from looking at a lot of whois records, I'd say it's roughly half / half.

But I would guess that a lot of them are NRIs.

If you had to estimate, what countries are represented in the top five or ten (other than India of course)?

The US, UK and Germany seem to have a significant number of Indian domainers.

also a lot of other EU countries have a good share of .IN's registered..one reason for it might be the large number of Indians residing outside..
