    Default Could .in surpass .com?

We all know .com is the most popular form of domain name extension. Though the .in extension appears to not be the largest and a widely used extension; do you think it could someday surpass the rankings of .com?

I think it's very possible. It may take awhile but we all know today's youth is becoming more and more 'ADD'. We don't like to type out long domain names; or have to remember them these days. Since .com is longer then a .in domain I think it could happen one day.

Possible but unlikely. Com domains have been around a lot longer(as far as I know). It would take far to long for .in domains to work their way up in the rankings. By then Com domains would be way beyond what they were back then.

    Just my two cents.

the stats at the moment show a long way to go for it, but if you look at the population of india and look at it from a business point if view, more and more company's are realising the benefits of moving production to the far east, they will be looking for that scope to show thier customers they have sites, branches in these countries.

It would take such a long time for it to surpass .com but you never know

Never going to happen - India is small fry compared to the rest of the world.

.In will be limited to just India whereas as most countries would be happy to use a non-geographically defined domain name.

Not a chance. The best that might be possible would to surpass other highly-popular cctld (.de, .co.uk, .ca).
