Are poker names popular in India - some time ago poker.in sold for $60K have there been any others ? I've got poker101.in so I do have a personal interest :-)

Hi advaita and welcome to INF!

Poker and gambling / casino type names do well in pretty much any extension, and .in and .co.in are no exception.

I don't think that poker101.in is worth more than reg fee. That's because the "101" at the end, while it sound good, doesn't really add anything to the name to make it better than other alternatives that are available at reg fee.

Hi Jeff - I've got to say I disagree about the 101 extension - poker101.com went for quite big bucksunfortunately I can't remember how much - but that's why I registered the 101.in) due to 101 being used as a synonym for 'basic information' I figured one day a poker101.in site will be needed ! I might even put it together myself if I ever get proficient enough.

You can go to NameBio and type "101" into the keyword field and it will give you a listing of mostly .com domains with 101 in them and for how much they sold.

Hi Redstar and welcome

In regards to this post you made -

*******************************************

just bagged another one, suprised no1 registred it

needcredit.in

good search term 13.9 million results

*******************************************

I would just recommend doing your research on Google India google.co.in not Google US as the results for searches will vary greatly.

Also make sure you place your search phrase in quotation marks eg "need credit" rather than just the words by themselves, otherwise you will get all of the sites listed on Google that have the words - need, credit and the combined phrase showing up and skewing your result numbers to be much higher than they are.

If you use "need credit" as the example then it has 9300 results on Google India not 13.9 million.

Even then the search phrase may show up on websites that are unrelated to you subject and is part of a longer tail phrase.

Just something to be aware of for your number crunching.

good advice, my top domain according to search terms would be "highlow.in", 184,000 results from "Pages from india" and 87,700,000 results from "pages from the web", these results were from google india.

i also take note of your point regarding, unrelated websites coming up...
