    Default Tourism_[dot]net[dot]in

Surprised it was available, since all .in subdomains are taken. I know it's a .net.in but I think this is one of those few keywords that have value in pretty much any TLD. Plus, several geodomains in the form locationtourism.net.in are developed.

Really curious to have your appraisals.

    what the?

    tourism was available?

your correct that tourism is a EXTREMELY popular word in ANY extension.

any appraisal wouldnt give that domain justice, but I wouldnt sell for less than 10k (this one you just wait for that price)
2 tourism companies in the same bidding room would be interesting to watch.

just the adsense / advertising revenue would be very nice.

    DOMAIN OF THE THE DAY

i know of a good template that can help reduce dev time and make you some money
'geoplaces' from 'templatic', its a wordpress template so you ready to go in 10 minutes (besides new logos etc)

** Build up this site and throw it on Flippa (seems to give you a better return)
    sedo would simply kill profit

I only believe in .in and .co.in,but youve done your research poet,so i would currently put this name at $100-$500. Its a very strong keyword.

Thanks, guys. The domain has been getting 6-8 type-ins since yesterday.

    More appraisals are welcome.

I would have to politely disagree,

I use this basic equation in my valuation.

    1. availability. of this keyword as a domain = 0

    2. brand-a-bility. (its very highly brand-able) and if a company done some advertising and strong SEO then it becomes as strong as the .in /.co.in in search rankings

    3. brand protection. (the owner of the .in / .co.in) is comfortable right now and a new player would upset this high perch and therefore cause panic (people dont like new players biting into their comfortable profits).

    4. competition. (there are many tourism agencies in India that would LOVE to own this domain) - how many tourism companies are in India using 'tourism' as their main keyword?

    5. appeal. (being from a 'non indian' residency, people in India forget that India is at the TOP of many travel destinations)

    6. domain name. its PRIME and a valuable domain in 75% of cctld's / gtld's)

If you had 2 or 3 BIG travel companies competing for this domain I think the starting price would be at $500+.

Tourism is the world's 3rd largest business, only behind food, booze etc

this is MY personal opinion as I look at this from a corporate branding frame of mind.
.net.au is possibly the worst you can get but its a brand-able domain that is highly used.

please dont look at this domain just on resale value, look at it from a business perspective.

** Please dont take this the wrong way, And I am sorry if this causes offense (im being totally honest here)
I had a look at this site this morning and I think that I could get this site making money in under 1 month.
its sad to see that your not taking this opportunity to make it successful and personally i think your strangling a GREAT DOMAIN to death

MrChris, I love how passionate you are about .in, definitely

Unfortunately currently I haven't the funds for a serious development project, but rest assured it will be among my priorities

i will help if you need.

if i had this domain? it would be making money very quickly.

think of your domain as a business and not simply as a domain....your sitting on some GOLD, you just need to mine it.

you can have a total budget of $200
give away a few paid positions to attract more clients that will pay.

set it up to make a monthly income......even $20 per client is enough if you multiply this by 100

look at geoplaces from 'templatic' its less than $100.
spend 2 days approaching hotels, restaurants and alike

that all you need to do

hehe thanks man, you have to chase success with everything you have, if you dont...you fail

look at your domains as a 'potential business' not simply as a domain.
thats the mistake that 99% of domainers make......your selling / building a business and success is in how much people remember your brand.

if i had just 1% of the domains on here as .com.au's I would be a very rich man and there are 1 billion people in india (20 mil in aust)

99% of your work is done just in the name :P

I think that it is more of a development candidate then one you'll be able to resell.
