Chandan, I didn't claim that I owned the domain :-) just want to hear appraisals before I put in my bid for this domain.

The sticky bit here is that people have commented time and again on this forum and others that any sort of porn etc., on Indian domains is illegal and might result in the domain being taken away. So, I am being a little cautions of that, and considering that risk was wondering what the domain might be worth. What I do not however understand is that if porn is illegal on these domains, how can the registrar allow them to be registered? It should be easy to blow generic names like nude and porn right?

Nobody vets names that are registered - it's an automatic process.

actually porn videos etc is illegal in india so any indian wouldnt like to risk his life by registering a porn.in which may give his home address to indian registry who will in turn help the indian cyber police to reach his house and arrest him for hosting a porn site. so any indian who wants to own a porn site can instead use a .com .net etc and guard his whois info so their registry like verisign & his registrar like godaddy, moniker etc wouldnt tell his home adress and all to indian cyber police and he can make money still hosting his site on the usa servers with privacy protect on a .com domain instead...nice!

well the .in is for international people like those foreigners who live in usa or so, they dont know if a porn site is illegal in india or not so they register such domains by mistake thinking it as a premium domain...xD

so i told you the story...now its time for you to think & conclude and even tell me about what you gonna do by pm i think..xD
