They are pre 2005 companies. .IN became available in from Feb 15 2005. Any company before that used the .co.in

I suggest you look around at the reality and not get taken in by what you 'hear'.

Basically, shorter is better, .co.in will always be second fiddle to .in - just compare the llls registered between the two and you'll understand the situation perfectly.
